Ultrapanel Building Technologies has been named as a finalist in the prestigious Offsite Construction Awards 2025 in the Product Innovation category. This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to redefining UK homebuilding with smarter, faster and greener construction solutions.
The company’s patented next generation SIP system – Ultrapanel, addresses two of the UK’s most urgent challenges – the rapid delivery of high quality new homes at scale and the decarbonisation of the built environment. Developed with precision, scalability and sustainability in mind, the Ultrapanel system is leading a new era of industrialised construction.
Tristin Willis, Managing Director of Ultrapanel Building Technologies, commented: “Being shortlisted for an Offsite Award is a testament to the transformative potential of our panelised technology. At Ultrapanel, we are not just innovating in theory – we are delivering practical, scalable solutions that enable housebuilders to construct high-performance homes quickly and sustainably.”
Ultrapanel Building Technologies has a strong track record of industry recognition, picking up the following accolades for its Room in the Roof system:
- Building Innovation Awards 2021 – Winner: Best Offsite Innovation
- Housebuilder Awards 2021 – Finalist: Product of the Year
- Offsite Awards 2022 – Highly Commended: Product Innovation
Millimetre Precision With Repeatable Quality
Integrating structural strength and insulation in a single, lightweight panel, the factory-controlled process behind the manufacture of Ultrapanel, ensures millimetre precision, repeatable quality and rapid onsite assembly – often up to 40% faster than traditional build methods.
Designed for adaptability, the Ultrapanel system supports mass customisation, allowing developers to achieve U-values as low as 0.10 W/m²K and airtightness levels to Passivhaus standards. As a result, homes built with Ultrapanel are capable of achieving EPC A ratings while delivering ultra-low energy bills for end users.
Beyond performance, Ultrapanel is a frontrunner in sustainable construction. The system is up to 70% lighter than conventional materials, reducing embodied carbon, transportation needs and site impact. With a DfMA approach and components designed for disassembly and reuse, Ultrapanel aligns fully with circular construction principles and zero-waste goals.
The innovation has already received strong industry endorsement through BBA certification, NHBC Accepts, and rigorous third-party testing covering structural, thermal, acoustic and fire performance. It is actively being adopted by both SME builders and volume housing developers looking to meet housing targets without compromising on quality or compliance.
Later this year, Ultrapanel Building Technologies will launch a fully operational demonstration home, showcasing high-performance construction combined with renewable energy systems such as solar PV, air source heat pumps and battery storage. This initiative will serve as an educational platform, hosting live demonstrations, workshops and industry engagement events aimed at accelerating the adoption of offsite technologies.
Offsite Awards Finals
The Offsite Awards will announce the winners later this year following the first day of Offsite Expo on 16 September at the Coventry Building Society Arena. For Ultrapanel, reaching the finals underscores its role as a technology leader poised to support the industry in building new homes faster, more efficiently and that are future-ready
The Ultrapanel Advantage
Ultrapanel Building Technologies as part of the Ultraframe Group, was established to develop future-ready buildings solutions designed to deliver high-quality new homes at scale.
Established in 1983, Ultraframe was the first offsite manufacturer of precision engineered roofing systems, starting with conservatories and moving into solid roof home extensions. With a 500,000sqft factory that produces over 25,000 roofs each year, Ultraframe’s expertise not only lie in technology and performance, but also in a 40-year history of manufacturing at pace with millimetre precision.
